FAQ

We don’t know what to do in photos! Will you teach us?

ABSOLUTELY. While I talk a lot about unposed photos, that doesn’t mean I’ll leave you wondering “what the heck do I do with my hands??” in portraits. I offer posing coaching and prompts throughout the day as needed, but I try to fit them to your personalities to keep things moving in a way that feels natural and easy. Keep in mind that almost all of the portraits you see on my website are real people who normally feel just as uncomfortable in front of a camera as you do! And if you want to do a little preparation for the big day, check out my informative blog Engagement Session Poses 101.

How much is wedding photography?

All packages are listed on my pricing page. Rates depend on length of coverage, number of photographers, and wedding style (traditional full wedding or elopement). Additional fees may apply for travel.

Will you travel?

Absolutely! I frequently travel domestically within the US and internationally for weddings and elopements. I’m always ready for an adventure if you want to pack me in your suitcase and take me with you wherever.

How much are travel fees?

Travel fees are dependent on location and time of year. But they’re probably not nearly as bad as you might think! If you have a friend with a guest room or airline miles you want to use, I’m down to make it work. I will travel domestically and internationally, so just pack me in your suitcase and we’ll go. Make sure to check out my travel dates. Discounts may apply for locations near places already on my list!

Do you recommend an engagement session?

Engagement sessions are a fantastic way for us to hang out and get to know each other before your big day. They’re also great for your Save The Dates and wedding invitations. So yep, I sure do recommend them.

How do you deliver our photos?

All wedding photographs are delivered via an online gallery. Delivered photos are edited and high-resolution for downloading and printing.

What does your editing include?

My wedding photography editing includes color correcting, cropping and straightening, and light skin retouching on portraits. I will not manipulate photographs for age, weight, or any other physical preference. If you would like more in-depth editing such as that or adding/removing objects and people, I recommend using retouchup.com. They are a team of retouches who can complete just about any editing request for $1-10 per image.

How many photos will we recieve from our wedding day?

You can typically expect between 50-75 photos per hour booked. I deliver both color and black and white versions of every photograph.

How many photos will we receive from our engagement session?

You can typically expect between 75-100 photos from your engagement session. I deliver both color and black and white versions of every photograph.

Can we see a full gallery?

You sure can. As a matter of fact, I highly recommend looking through a full gallery before booking. It’s so important to see a finished product and know what to expect. If there are any photos on my site that particularly catch your eye, feel free to request that gallery in when you fill out my contact form.

Your style is pretty untraditional. Do you still include some regular smile and say cheese at the camera photos?

You bet! I love unique and candid photos, but I’ll always take a mix of posed and candid portraits.

Do you offer prints?

Heck yeah! Fine art print options are available through your finished digital gallery. Traditional wedding packages come with a print credit to apply towards purchase of prints and albums from your engagement session and wedding galleries. You own the printing rights so you’re also welcome to take the digital downloads to your local drugstore print station, but I really wouldn’t recommend it. Often, drug store print station printers are not calibrated or maintained to a fine art level. Because of this, prints can bleed and colors may not always print exactly correct. I’m always open to discussing this with you and helping however I can if you choose to go this route.

Do you offer wedding albums?

Albums are also available through your digital gallery. Following your wedding, I will custom design an album proof and send it to your email. With that proof as your starting point, you can order the album as-is or swap/add photos, edit page layouts, and customize your album cover. Albums range from $125-500 depending on the number of pages and which album page and cover materials you select. The proof I design and send you will have the minimum number of pages and most affordable material options selected.

What equipment do you use?

I shoot with two full-frame Canon cameras. I use a variety of professional lenses throughout the day, but my go-to lenses are a 50mm and 85mm (both Canon L series). I also bring my own lighting equipment and will be prepared for any indoor or outdoor lighting situation.
