EXPERIENCE

My Approach to Wedding Photography

I describe my photography style as classic and candid with warm film tone editing. While trends and stylized editing is fun, I prefer to lean into a natural editing that will timelessly age well with your relationship.

On your wedding day, my focus is candids and documenting moments. I do stage and guide some moments as necessary, but I prefer to allow the day unfold however it does. This is your wedding day, you should look back and remember the time you had with your friends and family, not curated “moments” forced by a photographer.

During the portrait portion of your day, I'll give you prompts to guide you in posing, but for the most part, I try to keep things fun and flowing in a way that's natural to your personalities. This means sometimes I’ll place you in a spot with good lighting, give you a pose, and then let you and your boo fall into the pose and interact in whatever way feels normal. No fake laughs or awkward “longing stare” poses here.

THE PROCESS

Most people haven’t planned an event as immersive as a wedding! It can be incredibly overwhelming at the start. That’s why it’s important to have a strong team of experienced vendors to help your day unfold as perfectly as you’ve always imagined it.

As your wedding photographer, I’ll use my experience with over 150+ weddings to guide you every step of the way from inquiry to gallery delivery.

First Step

After submitting my contact form (link), you’ll be prompted to schedule a 10-15 minute Zoom consultation call with me.

On this call, we’ll cover:

An introduction - I’ll talk about me, and I’d love to hear about you and your lover!
Your wedding vision. This can be specific detailed plans or just general ideas if you’re in the brainstorming stage.
What you already have planned and what you would like help with.
What package is the best fit for your desired timeline.

I believe it's super important to have a photographer who is a good fit and connect wells with you (since we'll basically be spending a whole day together). For me, a video chat is so much more personal than emails. However, I also understand how exhausting and sometimes anxiety inducing phone calls can be. If you’re more comfortable with sticking to email, just let me know in your contact form.

Booking OkCrowe

After selecting your package, I’ll email you a digital contract and invoice. No need to print and sign or mail a check -  I keep everything online to make it as easy and accessible to you as possible.

I require a signed contract and retainer to officially reserve your date. The retainer is 25% of your total package price and is non-refundable once paid. Your final balance is due 30 days before your wedding date.

Next Steps

Hooray! I’m your wedding photographer!

In the weeks following your booking confirmation, you’ll receive a welcome packet with my wedding planning guide and some other goodies in the mail.

I’ll also be in touch throughout your engagement with wedding planning tips, opportunities to chat through plans, and offer vendor recommendations as requested.

Engagement Session

It’s time to take a break from wedding planning and enjoy your engagement session!

Think of this as less of a “photo shoot” and more like a date night with your photographer friend third-wheel. No cheesy poses, so fake laughs, and no awkward “what do I do with my hands??” moments. I’ll guide you through styling and posing to make this the most comfortable you’ve ever been in front of a camera.

This is also the perfect practice run for your big day. Many couples have never had professional photographs taken of them and wedding photography can feel really intimidating! I use many of the same poses and prompts at your engagement session as I will on your wedding day. After your engagement session, you’ll feel even more confident and prepared for the portraits on the big day.

On Your Wedding Day

I’m not only your photographer, I’m your wedding industry bestie who will be by your side all day. I’ll be documenting the entire day, but I’m also your resource and helper as the day flows.

Whatever the day brings, I’ll be there to help you navigate it and bring your wedding dreams to life.

After The Wedding

The week after your wedding, I’ll send a sneak peek with 5-10 images to enjoy while I sort and edit the rest of the images.

Your full gallery will be edited with my custom presets and delivered in 8 weeks or less.

Print Services

My online gallery platform offers fine-art prints, canvases, and custom designed heirloom wedding albums. I believe images were not meant to be looked at once and forgotten on a hard drive. Real, tangible print products are the best way to showcase and access your wedding day memories. Printed portraits and family group photos also make great holiday gifts!

I also include a print and sharing release in my contract so you are welcome to download the images and print them with your own preferred service.
